Leading Trade Marks Attorney Marks a Decade of Success
A decade after starting out on her own, trade marks attorney Jacqui Pryor has grown her reputation and her business significantly, notched up some significant victories and been recognised internationally as an expert in the field of trade mark law.
She launched Mark My Words Trade Mark Services in 2011 with the objective of supporting smaller businesses by offering friendly and affordable trade mark services and over the years, has expanded her sphere of influence to businesses of all sizes across a variety of industries. Now, with an additional trade marks attorney and two administrative staff on the team, MMW Trade Marks is set to further entrench its reputation as expert advisors in affordable trade mark services.
A Decade of Significant Achievements
Reflecting on the past decade, Jacqui says she is especially proud of her company’s ‘never say never’ attitude which has resulted in some significant achievements.
One notable highlight was a recent federal court ruling on a trade mark removal in favour of her client, Swole O’Clock Ltd – a win she says was particularly satisfying because the particular type of removal is known to be difficult. Jacqui’s client first had success in its case before the Trade Marks Office, however the other party sought to appeal the decision. However, remained unsuccessful in doing so, allowing MMW Trade Marks’ client to remain the victor. “The case attracted interest and was also the subject of several articles written by industry heavyweights which was very gratifying,” she said. Another highlight of Jacqui’s first decade in her own business was being featured in the global rankings as a recommended trade marks attorney. The WTR 1000 – the World’s Leading Trademark Professionals – is described on the World Trademark Review’s website as ‘a unique guide that identifies the top trademark professionals in key jurisdictions around the globe…(and which has) firmly established itself as the definitive ‘go-to’ resource for those seeking world-class legal trade mark expertise.’ (https://www.worldtrademarkreview.com/rankings/wtr-1000)
